Community Development and Citizens’ Engagement Division – The Director and staff of the Community Development and Citizens’ Engagement Division would like to congratulate Mrs. Almeda King on attaining the age of 100.

We welcome her into the Centenarian Club which now boasts of 24 living Centenarians of Antigua and Barbuda. Mrs. Almeda King was born on 27th July, 1923 in the village of Urlings and now resides in

Mc Kinnons with her daughter Mrs. Jean King David. Almeda is the first of 9 children, 5 of whom are now deceased. She’s the mother of 2 children, a daughter and a son who is now deceased. Additionally, she has 4 grandchildren and 7 great great-grandchildren.

Singing is one of her hobbies and she also has a lovely voice. Almeda is also the sister of the late Jerome Josiah known as Sympo who was one of Antigua’s top calypsonian. At the age of 100 she still has a very sharp memory. God’s continuous blessings and cheers to many more birthdays.
