Ministry of Social Transformation and Human Resource Development – As part of the week of activities dedicated to honouring our nation’s centenarians, the  Community Development and Citizens’ Engagement Division and the Office of the Governor General partnered with Digicel Antigua to celebrate Centenarians’ Day today and gifted our local gems with food baskets and packages.

Governor General His Excellency Sir Rodney Williams delivered bouquets to the oldest females Gladys Hodge (105) (Fort Road), Sarah Ann Joseph and Ethel Charles both of Liberta and both 104 years old and Christopher Browne of Freemans Village 100 years old who is the oldest male centenarian living on island.

The week of activities comes to an end on Friday 9th June with a number of schools participating in Mud Day activities and a visit from Community field Officers who will be educating the students about our Centenarians under the theme, “Bridging the generation gap”.
