The Community Development and Citizens’ Engagement Division will from Monday 5th June commence a week of activities to commemorate the nation’s centenarians.

Officers and Committee members will be interviewed by the various media houses highlighting the activities which will form a part of the week as well as the rationale behind the venture.

To date, Antigua and Barbuda boast of twenty-three (23) living Centenarians. Eighteen (18) reside in Antigua while five (5) reside abroad. There are nineteen (19) female Centenarians and four (4) male Centenarians.

The eldest Centenarian is Ms. Gladys Hodge who is one hundred and five (105) years old. Ms. Sarah Ann Evangeline Joseph who is the second oldest is one hundred and four (104) years old. Ms. Joseph resides in Green Hill, Liberta. Eldest male Mr. George Theophilus Benjamin who is 104 years old -resides in Florida, USA.
