Francille Francis Davis

Gone Too Soon

If you searched for the definition of a True Kindergarten Teacher you would find Teacher Davis, as she was affectionately called.

This selfless, committed, hardworking teacher was also a willing and reliable mentor for other teachers.

We depended on her for initiating young teachers into the teaching fraternity and she proudly welcomed the challenge for many years.

She had a distinct voice and laugh, and was genuinely a happy, helpful, optimistic person.

She loved the children so much that whenever she trained a teacher she had to split the class in two to let the teacher have a set of her own to teach for teacher Davis still wanted to keep ninety percent of the children for herself.

We used to joke that she liked to hoard the children. She was determined that all the students who left her hands should know how to read and write no matter what it took.

Five Islands Primary and the whole Education System suffered a tremendous loss. Words cannot describe the magnitude of the impact she had on so many lives.

It is truly a sad day, but we will treasure her memory and continue her mission. May her soul rest in peace.
